VIDEO: Efe Oraka’s Nigerian Dream is as relevant as ever.

In December 2018, we featured Efe Oraka’s Nigerian Dream in our Voices of Music column and hailed it her most important single as at that time. The song wasn’t just a weighty statement that chronicled the good, bad and ugly of Africa’s most populated country, it also sparked a brief moment of colletive reflection on social media amongst the younger generation. There was a wave of Nigerians sharing videos where they spoke fervently about the Nigeria they dreamed about.

Many months later, Efe has now finally released the video of this profound tune produced by Cheso under Empawa Africa, an initiative by Mr Eazi geared at ‘equipping’ the next generation of African artists. Although a late entry, Nigerian dream still scores high and remains timeless, digging into the unending poverty, corruption at high places, inequality nd other pertinent issues eating deep into our societal fabric.
