GIDA, in collaboration with Leadway Assurance, proudly announces a transformative initiative aimed at nurturing and spotlighting the talents of emerging photographers in Nigeria. This groundbreaking project features a comprehensive
Photography Masterclass, an inspiring Zine Workshop, and an exciting Launch Event, all designed to provide essential platforms for learning, growth, and visibility in the photography sector.
Launching this month, the project is dedicated to equipping participants with both artistic creativity and the entrepreneurial know-how essential for success in today’s competitive market.
Photography Masterclass (Day 1): Kicking off the program, the masterclass will be helmed by talented photographers Dafe Oboro and Rachel Seidu. This in-depth session will provide attendees with valuable insights into essential technical photography skills, as well as crucial business strategies, ensuring they gain a comprehensive understanding of their craft, from capturing compelling images to navigating the professional landscape effectively.
Zine Workshop (Following Week): After the masterclass, two promising participants will be selected for an exclusive zine workshop. Under the expert guidance of a seasoned designer, these chosen photographers will have the opportunity to transform their work into tangible, printed zines, gaining invaluable experience in bringing their creative visions to life in print.
Launch Event: The initiative will culminate in a vibrant launch event where the selected workshop photographers will unveil their newly created zines. This showcase will attract a curated audience of industry professionals, fellow creatives, and media representatives, providing a unique opportunity for all participants to gain recognition and forge meaningful connections within the art community.

The masterclass and related events will be held at 16 by 16, located at 16 Kofo Abayomi, Victoria Island, Lagos. The masterclass is scheduled for July 26, 2025, followed by the workshop and launch event in the weeks that follow.
