Prettyboy D-O’s sophomore project ‘Wildfire’ is out now

It is without doubts that Prettyboy D-O is one of the most distinctive and phenomenal voices amongst the new generation of African pop-stars today. The intergalactic artist who’s shuttled the past few years between California, New York and Lagos in pursuit of freedom, degrees and his passion –– music.

D-O’s eclectic sound is a fusion of afrobeat, dancehall and hip Hop, R&B –– a rare combo spiced with fierceness, exuberance and some sort of pure rage of liberation –– a style that has helped him build cult and loyal listeners not bound by proximity, gender or class. In a very recent cover story, Culture Custodian puts that ‘D-O’s sound sits between what some would describe as “Alte” and street music in Nigeria that mixes elements of Afrobeats and Hip hop with raw execution.’

Now D-O is making a statement with his widely anticipated sophomore project, Wildfire, a dynamic and indomitable body of work which features Tim Lyre, a Nigerian singer and songwriter, Ayo Wani, uprising Afropop artiste and self-acclaimed ‘Alte Drake’, the King of indigenous Nigerian rap Olamide and Solana. Every song on the EP is an experimental package filled with striking sounds and harmonies’.
